What Personal Data We Collect and Why
Comments
When users leave comments on the site, we collect the information entered into the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent. This helps us detect and reduce spam.
We may use an anonymized string (a hash) generated from your email address with the Gravatar service to determine if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if available) will be publicly displayed with your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please ensure they do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to download and extract this information from images posted on the site.
Contact Forms
We may collect data submitted through contact forms for customer service or order support purposes. This data is not used for marketing unless explicitly consented to.
Cookies
- When you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year.
- Visiting our login page sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This is discarded when you close your browser.
- If you log in, we set up cookies to store your login credentials and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen preference cookies last one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login remains for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.
- If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie is stored in your browser (not containing personal data). It identifies the post ID and expires in one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, or articles. This content behaves exactly as if you were visiting the other website directly. Those sites may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content—especially if you're logged into their platform.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools to collect anonymous visitor behavior data to improve our services and website performance.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. Your information may be shared only where necessary for site operations or legal obligations.
Data Retention
- Comments and associated metadata are stored indefinitely to allow auto-approval of future comments.
- For registered users, we retain all personal information stored in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their data at any time (except for their username). Site administrators also have access to edit this information.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account or have submitted comments, you may request an exported file of the data we hold about you. You can also request that we delete this data. However, we may retain some data for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be analyzed using an automated spam detection system.
