Butcher Block Countertop & Island

It’s a beautiful slab of wood, but I found I needed to do a bit more fine-grit sanding than I expected to get it perfectly smooth before my clear coat.

The wood itself is 5 stars, but the shipping box was a bit beat up when it arrived. Luckily, the block was packed well enough that there was no damage.

It’s much more substantial than I expected for the price. It feels like a custom-ordered piece from a high-end lumber yard.

This is the ultimate DIY project base. I’ve used several of these for different rooms in my house, and the quality is consistent every single time.

I was worried about the density, but this Hevea is very hard. It doesn't dent easily and provides a very solid work surface for my craft room.
